Simple 3 Step Pea & Ham Soup

Try this delicious winter warmer – it’s so easy to make.


  • 1 smoked hock or 750g bacon bones
  • 500g yellow split peas
  • 1kg soup veg


STEP 1-  Half fill a stockpot with water & boil hock or bacon bones for 1.5 hours, or until meat falls off bone. Remove bones from water (retain water), scrape all meat from bones & chop into small pieces

STEP 2 – Add chopped soup veg & split peas to the retained water. Boil until soup thickens & vegetables are soft (aprox 45 minutes)

STEP 3 – Add chopped meat back into soup & warm through. Season with salt & pepper. Serve with some crusty bread
